Carrizalillo Bay and beach in Puerto Escondido on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca, Mexico is small and accessible by foot although not by vehicle. Although open to the sea, the bay provides shelter from the full force of the waves, but even so, there’s good wave formation, particularly for surfers just starting out in the sport. Along the rocks that line each end of the beach, snorkeling is also popular.
The beach lies to the northeast of Puerto Escondido at about a 15 minutes walk from downtown and 5 minutes from the “Bacocho” neighborhood.
