At the beginning of the 16th Century the first Royal Customs House of the Pacific Coast was built here. Declared a Historical Monument, this magnificent compound represents and example of the High Colonial architecture of Mexico and houses today the Hotel Casa de la Real Aduana, an intimate boutique hotel located in the heart of Patzcuaro, half a block from the stunning Plaza Vasco de Quiroga.
