Nuevo Leon
The state of Nuevo Leon is located in the northern sector of Mexico, bordered by the United States to the north, the state of Tamaulipas to the east, San Luis Potosi to the south and Coahuila to the east.
Some of the more important Nuevo Leon locations and cities are Monterrey, Linares, Sabinas Hidalgo, Guadalupe, Cadereyta Jiménez, Santa Catarina and San Nicolas de los Garza. Monterrey, the capital of the state of Nuevo Leon, is known as the "Sultana del Norte" or "Sultan of the North", and is the third largest city in the republic after Mexico City and Guadalajara.
Nuevo Leon offers many opportunities for adventure and eco-tourism, with caving tours of the Bustamante and Garcia Caverns or hiking excursions into Cumbres de Monterrey, Matacanes Canyon or Cascada Cola de Caballo national park areas, where you'll find plenty of waterfalls and exciting and energizing outdoor activities.
