Surf-Mexico Guide to Surfing and Adventure Travel in Mexico

Destinations in Mexico

Mexico is truly a very rich country in natural resources and beauty. Mexico comprises 31 states and one Federal District and stretches from the U.S. border at its northern edge to the Central American frontiers of Guatemala and Belize to the south-east. It has extensive coastlines along the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California (or Sea of Cortez as it is known here) to the west and south-west and on the Atlantic side, the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean to the west and south-west.

Its extension allows for an incredible variety of climates and geographies, with mountain ranges running down its spine, the major ones the continuation of the Rocky Mountains that run down the length of the whole North American continent.
