Aguascalientes
The state of Aguascalientes in north-central Mexico is bordered by the states of Jalisco and Zacatecas. Its capital city is also called Aguascalientes and in addition to being noted for the colonial architecture, it is well-known for the Feria de San Marcos (Saint Mark's Fair), an enormous and important national agricultural and cultural event that dates back to 1828 and yearly brings thousands of people to Aguascalientes between April 15 and May 10.The name, Aguascalientes, translates into "Hot Waters", and not surprisingly the state and capital gained that name from the presence of a number of thermal springs. The state, being an agricultural area of early settlement after the arrival of the Spanish, also hosts a great number of Haciendas.
Main cities and destinations: The City of Aguascalientes, Pabellon de Arteaga, Rincon de Romos, Jesus Maria, Calvillo
