All surfers, both Mexican and foreign, who wish to participate in the traditional November International “Zicatela PRO 2009″ Surf Festival tournament in November in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico.

PLACE AND DATE: November 6-8, 2009
PARTICIPANTS: All surfers who register prior to registration deadline on Tuesday 3, November, 2009.
CATEGORIES: Open Surf and Bodyboard
RULES: Those of the Mexican Federation of Surfing, A.C., backed by the ISA.
JUDGES: Judges certified by the Mexican Academy of Surf, A.C. and the IS
PRIZES: Prizes to be granted to the top 4 in each category with a purse of more than $100,000.00 pesos distributed evenly between the two categories, and the awarding of diplomas to the participants.
FACILITIES: The A.S.E.O., A.C. organizing Committee handles support and discounts for participants in hotels, motels and local restaurants.

REVOLCADERO HISTORICO 2009 Surfing Tournament, October 24 and 25 at Playa Revolcadero, Acapuldo, Guerrero.

Thursday, 22 October
Opening surf classes will be given free to the first 20 kids under the age of 12 who sign up via michasurf(at)hotmail.com or cavernicolasurf(at)hotmail.com. Invited instructors: Victor Pérez, Bonfil Surf Shop and Surf school; Fernando García, from Mayan Palace beach; Uriel Rosales, PCR Surf shop and school; Piquant surf shop and school; Ernesto Trujillo, Micha Surf Shop and school.
Friday, 23 October
- Arrival of participants and assignment of courtesy hotel rooms to those applicable.
- Participant registrations at Playa Revolcadero, Micha surfboards, from 18:00 to 21:00.
- Surf clinic/workshop/presentation by José Manuel “Yuco” Trujillo focusing on his experiences in the 2008/2009 surfing competitions
- Showing of the Revolcadero Historico 2008 tournament video.
- 22:00: Assignments of participants to groups
Saturday, 24 October
- 8:00: Event begins with the releasing of marine turtles from the Playa Hermosa Turtle sanctuary by the children participating in the event as well as spectators.
- 8:30: Surfing competition begins, starting with the 15-17 year-old category and continuing successively. There will be raffles, trivia games and prizes from Planeta Surf magazine and Yamaha.
- 14:00: Final group of the day competes.
Sunday, 25 October
- 8:00: Competition continues.
- 10:00: Children/”’’s awards presented by Sra. Mayte
- 14:30: Cutting of the cake by Sra. Mayte in honor of the kids.
- 15:00: Surfing finals begin.
- 16:30: Special awards ceremony. Special mention going to José Manuel Trujillo “Yuco”, 2008/2009 National surfing champion as the “Ambassador of the Waves at Revolcadero Beach”. Special mention going to Sr. Emilio Atri Sacal as Mentor, benefactor and unconditional friend of the Playa Revolcadero Waves Surfing Association (Asociación de Surfers de las Olas de Playa Revolcadero). Special award going to Javier Hernandez Castanon “La Charra” as Honorable Member of the Waves at Playa Revolcadero.
- 16:40: Awards ceremony for all surf tournament categories.
- 17:00: Freeing of marine turtles by all participants, champions and spectators, and closing Bikini contest

Surfing event open to all children and young people of any nationality, aged 6 to 17 years (must submit copy of your birth certificate), with payment of registration and showing a letter of permission signed by a parent or guardian.
Registrations are open from the publication of this notice or information via cavernicolasurf (at) hotmail.com or michasurf (at) hotmail.com until 23 October 6 to 9 pm, at Revolcadero Beach in Micha Surfboards.

Girls-shortboard (one category, up to 17 years)
* In the category A, may be assisted by an adult in the water.

The judges will be appointed by the Organizing Committee will be final and irrevocable. The Tournament is governed by the rules of the International Surfing Association.
The Organizing Committee offers free lodging for the first 10 out-of-town competitors who register.

The closing stage of the 2009 Mexican National Surfing Circuit will take place at the second edition of the Surf & Music Festival this coming July 9 through 12 in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, starting at 7 a.m. daily. Two podiums will be set up on Playa Zicatela and Punta Zicatela in Puerto.
