La Costa Alegre de Jalisco

What is called the Costa Alegre, or Happy Coast, of the State of Jalisco encompasses the region extending from its southern border with the State of Colima, northward to the coastal area near the town of Tomatlan. Access can be gained via coastal highway 200 from the Port of Manzanillo, Colima from the south or the resort of Puerto Vallarta on Banderas Bay to the north, or along somewhat winding highway 80 that runs down through the interior from Guadalajara.
