XXI PRO AM International Surfing Tournament Invitational
The XXI PRO AM International Surfing Tournament Invitational in memory of Evencio Garcia Bibiano, who became Mexico's 1st surfing champion in Petacalco in 1978, was held under the auspices of the Guerrero State Surfing Association on November 24, 25 and 26 at Playa Bonfil in Acapulco.
Abel Estopin of Colima captured the championship title in Freestyle Category, while Oaxacan Citlali Calleja took the honors in the Women's category. Young Oaxacan Quetzal Estrada White, current Children's Category national champion, walked off with the trophy in Children's Category “B”.
The cream of Mexico's surfing community was present at the event, including David Rutherford, Oscar Moncada, Roberto Salinas, Heriberto Ramirez, Raul Medina, Javier Hernandez, Alex Muñoz, Dilan Southworth, Joe Estrada, Jordy Sanchez, Axel Cruz, Fernando y Alfonso Polidura, Bruce Grimes and many others.
