"1er. CAMPEONATO SELECTIVO ESTATAL DE SURFING “PUNTA COYOTE REVOLCADERO”
Results of the "1er. CAMPEONATO SELECTIVO ESTATAL DE SURFING “PUNTA COYOTE REVOLCADERO” (1st Punta Coyote Revolcadero Selective State Surfing Championship), held in Playa Revolcadero, Acapulco from May 26 - 28, 2006Organized by the Guerrero State Surfing Association and Club Punta Coyote Revolcadero
116 surfers from Zihuatanejo and Acapulco, from 6 to 51 years of age in 10 categories, participated in this event. Categories were: childrens, juvenile short board, free short board, ladies short board, free body board, ladies body board, seniors, masters, grand masters, long board. Two extra categories were added, the children's and grand master, because of the children's insistence in participating
Despite the inclement weather, counter currents, wind, surges, rain and lack of support by municipal and state sports authorities, this competition still was a great success. The winners and this and a follow-up qualifying event at La Barrita de Petatlan in August, will represent the state of Guerrero in the National Mexican Championships in September in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo
