Mexico hosts several surfing contests and competitions every year, the most famous of which is probably the Annual International Contest held in Puerto Escondido at the end of November.
There are also a number of smaller contests held in each state which result in the usual prizes and trophies as well as points to become a part of the Mexican National Surfing Team and compete for the World Surfing Championship.
Since this site is based in Guerrero much of this information is about this area though we'd be glad to post information and surf tournament coverage for all of Mainland Mexico.

2008 Surfing contests, competitions, tournaments
MEXICAN NATIONAL SURFING CHAMPIONSHIPS 2008/2009
BARRA DE NEXPA, MICHOACAN, April 17-20, 2008
The Mexican National Surfing Championships are being held, under the auspices of the Federación Mexicana de Surfing A.C., (Mexican Surfing Federation), the Asociación de Surfing del Estado de Michoacán A.C. (Michoacan State Surfing Association), the State Government and the Municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas y Aquila, in coordination with the Secretaria de Turismo and the CECUFI, at the popular Michoacan surf spot of Barra de Nexpa in Michoacan, from April 17th through 20th.
The 2nd stage of the International professional COPA LAS AMERICAS PRO AM DE SURF tournament will be held at Playa Bonfil in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico on April 3 thru 6, 2008 with competitors vying for a cash purse in the categories of juvenile short board, open short board, long board and body board.... The 1st circuit of the AMERICAS PRO AM CUP 2008 will take place in Cancun, Quintana Roo at Playa Delfines from the 18th until the 27th of January 2008.
