The 2012 Quimixto surf tournament in Quimixto, Jalisco (just south of Puerto Vallarta) takes place on March 2, 3 and 4, 2012. This is the third edition of the Quimixto surfing festival.
Categories are:
- Open Board: open to surfers of all ages and nationalities. Registration cost: $300 pesos (includes T-shirt). Cash prizes from 500-10,000 pesos
- Open Bodyboard: open to body boarders of all ages and nationalities. Registration: $250 pesos (includes T-shirt). 1st prize: $3,000 pesos. 2nd, 3rd and 4th, body boarding gear and gifts
- Women’s: open to women surfers of all ages and nationalities. Registration: $200 (includes T-shirt). Gifts awarded to the first 4 places.
- Juniors Board: sub-16, any nationality. Registration: $200 (includes T-shirt). Surfboard to the first place winner; gifts to 2nd-4th places.
- Longboard: Long boarders of all ages and nationalities. Registration: $200 (includes T-shirt). Prizes for first 4 places.
