Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and Troncones, Mexico

Zihuatanejo, Ixtapa and Troncones offer the visitor a great many resources. We regularly have fairs and art shows, music events around town, and wonderful side trips to pristine beaches and outlying areas that are not yet overrun or overdeveloped. Here you'll easily find everything you'd like to know about this beautiful area of the Pacific Coast.

Zihuatanejo is a small port on the coast of Mexico that preserves the simple and welcoming atmosphere of a small village. Zihua's sheltered bay, often visited by cruise ships making their way to tourist destinations up and down the Pacific coast, provides several beaches, while Ixtapa, some 5 miles distant, is a planned beachfront resort with 5-star hotels and services, golf courses and a marina, offering more invigorating (and sometimes dangerous!) open-ocean surf.

Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo offers many resources for the deep-sea fisherman (see Zihua-Ixtapa.com's Fishing page). At the Pier near the western end of Playa Principal are stationed fishing boats which can be rented at a variety of rates for your trips to catch the big one. From the Pier you can also purchase tickets for the small boat (panga) service that will take you to Las Gatas.
